This is the Tenth and last Blogprompt of the year.
It's not a difficult one.
Think about where you live at home (that is where you live now or where you lived before you moved into a Hall of Residence.)
Think about the area in which you live. Perhaps find out the area covered by your electoral ward or better still your Super Output Area (SOA). Find out from here.
Think about how closely your home area fits in with the definition of a 'sustainable community' that we introduced last week (you might want to refresh yourself of this definition by having a look at the powerpoint or one of the white papers. Here.
Blog to what extent your ward/SOA resembles a 'sustainable community' and what extent you don't think it does. Give some evidence from your observations (or your memories) of this judgment.
Use some of the collected data from your ward or SOA to make your point. Find this from here.

Milton Keynes 021 is a new and very well developed town in Buckighamshire county. In my area the population is 1713 persons of which male are 913 and female 800.
ReplyDeleteThe local community is more aware of sustainable life as they have well introduced recycling bins, community centres, play grounds for public and they have improved public transport to incourage people to use them more regularly.
My area is very close to the city centre, most people tends to walk to the city centre and buses and trains to those who work outside milton keynes.
Physical environmental land in my area is covered by domestic building 8.5%, non domestic building 1.2%, roads 20.2%, gardens 14.2% and green space 47.3% , according to the local census, its very obvious that the local authority work very closely with the community to sustain their living life by having more land for community activities rather than buildings.
Kensal Rise 030 is in London andis a average developed town. In my area the population is 1471 persons of which there are 704 male and 767 female. The local authority is aware of the sustainable life in my area so we now have recycling bins and recycling for paper/cardboard, we have a new built sports center and the area has improved the public transport to encourage the locals to use them more now that we have couple buses that take you to the other side of London. But then again the my area is kind of close to Oxford street and also Westfields but most people ride there bikes to work because there is really no need to drive.
ReplyDeleteEducation is very good round the area for example here are some of the statistics that show the number of pupils that did good in school.
